DIANA
OROPEZA
x3

untitled (me's)

I kept bumping into myself, so I researched spells that could bind me from doppelgangers, but you have to kill them yourself or they just keep coming back, so I bought a small knife, but my doppelganger also had a knife, and so we both went for the throat. We stood, blades poised at each other's throats, because neither of us knew who was me, or who wasn’t me, because there are no spells that protect you from mirrors, and almost nothing can stop you from appearing everywhere. The only way to know you’re the real you is to buy a set of toad’s eyes so that your cunning and unique look will set you apart.

Diana Oropeza is a writer and performer based in Portland, OR. When she grows up, she hopes to become a school of fish.
